Greg and Holly’s first date was on August 2, 2013 at Jeremiah’s Italian Ice and the Enzian’s Eden Bar. Holly was very impressed by this date. She was even more impressed by Greg’s ability to get out of a ticket after they had been pulled over for doing an illegal U-turn by Jeremiah’s (you know the one, because you’ve done it too!) They did know each other from college–their roommates Travis and Alexa married each other, making this whole story a great future piece for Rollins magazine. Nonetheless, Greg decided on their first date that it’d probably be a good idea to marry Holly, but he didn’t want to scare her away just yet. Besides, he needed to tell her some long stories first. So he asked her out for a second date.

Their second date was on August 4, 2013. They planned to go to Mass together but Holly (always being early) couldn’t find Greg (always being late). She finally found him during the closing song and they were filled with joy to see each other again after being apart for 48 hours. Next, Greg took Holly to the Winter Pines Golf Club where he gave her a lesson in golf. Holly was slightly dehydrated so she got a touch of heat stroke and ended up in the bathroom vomiting. Greg took Holly back to his apartment and made her a smoothie and they watched the “FUNdamentals of Golf,” which Holly liked a lot. At this point in the story Holly thought it’d be a good idea to marry Greg.

They continued dating until October 3, 2014 when Greg proposed at Dickson Azalea Park, a special park to Holly (her Aunt Phyllis got married there). Greg designed a special ring for Holly using the diamond her Grandpa Art gave to her Grandma Dorothy 63 years ago. Holly liked it a lot and decided to wear it forever. Greg and Holly began graduate school together in the Fall of 2014 so they have been very busy with work and school. Somehow they were able to squeeze in planning a wedding and buying their first home together.

That being said, they sure hope you will be able to attend their special day. It won’t be perfect (because Holly doesn’t care anymore and just wants to be married therefore planning minor details like table arrangements has ceased) but having all of their loved ones there to support them will make it the best perfectly imperfect day of their lives. See you in May!
